Vaccine Market Dynamics Convening 2018

23 - 24 January 2018, London

Following its first edition in 2016, this second convening provides an opportunity for vaccine market dynamics stakeholders to regroup and discuss how to collectively approach the next generation of our work in vaccine markets. The meeting is co-convened by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Gavi, UNICEF and WHO.

    The presentation will focus on the overview of demand: demand evolution (2000-2016), current market (2017), and future (2018-2030); and its implications for global health. Case studies on the JE vaccine market and the evolution of the DTwP-containing vaccine market will be presented, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.

  • Session 2: Moving the needle on innovations – From pipeline to procurement (13:00 – 15:00)

    The presentation will focus on innovations, including definitions, importance, a gap analysis and problem statement. Case studies will be presented on the Pentavalent Uniject and Pneumoccal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) 4 dose – the journey from pipeline to procurement. These will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.

  • Session 3: Market dynamics life-cycle management – One size does not fit all (15:30 – 17:30)

    The presentation will provide an overview of the stages of life-cycle: product development, market shaping process, and evolution of individual markets; and will zoom in on the market shaping process (Data Curation, Market Analysis, Market Strategy, Execution, Assess Market Evolution, and Feedback Loop) and the evolution of markets (attractiveness of market to industry vs. affordability of supply to developing countries). This will be followed by a presentation of case studies on IPV and YF vaccine markets. The facilitators will then lead participants on an interactive team adventure, followed by opportunities for Q&A.
